When I started this project 7 years ago I felt it best not to publish real names so I could not be accused of it having any association with my public sector job. However this was futile as I was still locked up and sacked. My name is Gary Marsden, I was born, bred and still live in Leeds. Although I refer to Anglo Saxon as 'we' I am essentially a solo artist but could not have done it without the support of others. First and foremost
my partner who not only co-wrote the lyrics to some of the songs but supported me 100% through the difficult times of my arrest and loss of my well established career. Also other local guitarists feature on some of the tracks. These people have writing or performance credits on the relevant CD sleeves.

I was the Singer/songwriter for BRIK MARINE a moderately successful 80’s Leeds rock band. We headlined most pub/club rock venues in northern England, supported a few major bands and played down the bill at a couple of festivals. We reached the finals of a Battle of the bands competition, have a track on an EMI compilation album ‘Rock On’( I actually signed a contract with EMI ). Sold few records, made no money, packed in and went and did a proper job for 20 odd years.

Like most people we think the London Bombings were a Watershed in our history. For my birthday in  January 2006 my partner  bought me a new guitar and all of a sudden these patriotic songs started coming out of us. She co-wrote the lyrics on ‘This is England’ ‘When Daddy comes marching home’ and ‘Lest' we forget 7/7'... Got in touch with an old band member who has a studio and an internet based record company ‘confidential records’ and ANGLO SAXON was born on 23rd of April 2006 (work it out).

We are not remotely racist…. just extremely proud of our race (the Northern European mix) who’s ancestors built Stonehenge, Hadrian’s Wall, York Minster, signed the magna carta and are the major contributor to today’s western culture.

We are no pacifists... my Grandfather fought at El Alamein and my partners died in WW1 and if this country was under threat would like you defend it to the last. However, regarding the current conflicts we are 100% behind our forces but did not agree with the political decisions to send them and the sooner they are home safe the better. I think our lyrics reflect that and it seems rather prophetic that The War Machine has a huge ‘W’ in the middle of his name.

Anglo Saxon is not part of any political party or organisation. I cannot believe in a country of 50 million people no one has used the name Anglo Saxon. Anyway we’ve got it, patented it and we are keeping it. There has never been any patriotic/nationalist music that has made it into the mainstream, we would like to be the first but hopefully not the last. If other musicians/songwriters can follow through the door we have opened then at least we have contributed something.

I do not profess to be a great musician and hopefully in the future the songs can be re-recorded with musicians and production that will do them justice. We have financed everything so far, studio time, CD production etc. and are into four figures. Over the coming months we will be releasing more CD’s and posting the lyrics on the web site as we finish more songs.

Famous Quotes

Some of our quotes - Not as iconic but we will keep trying !

" Look in your heart and you will find the answer."

" Political correctness is by definition prejudice, at the expense of absolute truth."

" The truth is a dangerous animal "

" You might think it's a shit song but no fucker pays to hear you."

" If we fail to show courage now we will leave Revolution, Civil War or subjugation to our children........... and our children's children "

" I doubt I would agree with anyone about everything, but that's the whole point of freedom of speech."

" Not racist - not fascist - not difficult."

Finally this is from (Rosalind) Roz Caplan, a so called 'language expert' from Greater Manchester Police in her witness statement against me “Although his proclamations are not racist in her opinion he sees this as a get out clause to promote racist views”. My response was..."By using this ‘experts’ twisted logic then 'Forgive them Father for they know not what they do' is a get out clause to show no mercy and kill everyone".....That was the end of that one!

This will only gain momentum with the support of people like you. We may not be successful but at least we are trying to do something to contribute to the fight to regain the moral conscience and respect for the heritage of our ancestral homeland.
